Fans think Morbius’ delay is adding Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man

Morbius was delayed due to SEVENTH time this week (officially more times than The new mutants, take it as you like), and many fans wonder why. The story to the media was that this was due to the rise of the Omicron variant, but given the success of Spider-Man: No Way HomeDespite the pandemic, fans have a hard time believing that rationale. Another popular theory that emerges is that the delay may be due to remakes / added scenes, and fans are beginning to believe that the delay MAY be adding Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man to the film.

Andrew Garfield has seen a ton of fan support after his return as his version of Peter Parker / Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The Multiverse story allowed his return to coincide with the return of Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker / Spider-Man, resulting in the duo joining Tom Holland’s latest iteration of the character for an epic piece of fan service at its best.

Andrew Garfield’s return in particular has led fans to declare that he deserves to end his trilogy, and they are calling for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 to be made. Some fans even think that this is already going on somehow at Sony, and they think that his return could be linked to Morbius, a movie whose trailers clearly indicate it’s found in Garfield’s Spider Man universe. All this is just speculation at the moment and nothing has been confirmed but it gives an interesting case because I myself am not sold that Omicron was 100% the reason for the film’s latest delay. It seems silly not to release Morbius on the backside of Spider-Man: No Way Home and do not build on that momentum unless you rework things into a potentially big surprise. What do you all think?
