Love and Thunder Promo Art confirms Reforged Mjolnir

The god of thunder will apparently have his enchanted hammer again when Thor: Love and Thunder coming to the cinema later this year. Promo art for Thor: Love and Thunder shows Mjolnir forged again, but instead of being in possession of Chris Hemsworth’s titular character, Mjolnir is possessed by a returning Natalie Portman, who plays the returning Jane Foster. Also captured in the Thor: Love and Thunder artwork are the new costumes for Thor Odinson and the new Mighty Thor, with the latter’s superhero costume reminiscent of the one she wore in the comics.

Jane Foster and Thor stand side by side while Jane holds Mjolnir and Thor hold Stormbreaker, the weapon he had forged Avengers: Infinity War. Mjolnir and Stormbreaker both appear to have lightning radiating from their Asgardian metal, with one small difference: the lightning appears to form the cracks from when Mjolnir was destroyed by Hela in Thor: Ragnarok. The art, of course, does not explain how the hammer should be remade Love and Thunder, but if Jane Foster is to upgrade to Goddess of Thunder, she will need her own hammer to protect the Nine Kingdoms.

Avengers: Endgame contributed to Mjolnir making a surprising return, thanks to a time theft carried out by the Earth’s Most Mighty Heroes. Thor and Rocket Raccoon traveled back to the era of Thor: The Dark World to steal Reality Stone from Jane Foster, who was cared for at Asgard. Before going back to the present via the Quantum Kingdom, Thor summoned Mjolnir and brought it back with him.

One of the more iconic moments in Avengers: Endgame came when Captain America proved his worth by picking up Mjolnir to fight Thanos. He also summoned it later, before uttering the classic line, “Avengers Assemble!” When Thanos was defeated, Captain America returned the Infinity Stones and Mjolnir back to their proper places in the time stream.

Thor and Jane Foster are not the only heroes getting new costumes in the fourth film. Tessa Thompson was also spotted trying on a new suit for Valkyrie. Marvel Studio’s director of visual development, Andy Park, once discussed how colorful a movie Thor: Love and Thunder would be.

“There’s a reason why there have been over a decade of successful films, and exactly why this franchise is growing,” Park told Screen Rant earlier this year. “So Thor: Love and Thunder falls right into it, where it just pushes the boundaries of what is comfortable and what should be expected. “

“You’ll be surprised and push for these characters, and the visuals come with it. I think Taika said it in an interview where he’s like, he’s surprised he’s straight, he should not be allowed to make a film like this. And I understand that, “he added. “This movie is crazy. It’s so funny. And I just can not wait for everyone to see it. Because it was so fun to work on and design so many characters and make keyframes for. It’s going to be a good one. It’s going to be fun «.
