One day I will join Yellowstone movement, but until then I will continue to be jealous that I am missing something. For each season, the Paramount Network series continues to grow in fandom and viewership, as evidenced by the sheer amount of viewership the season four finale drew in for the network.
That Yellowstone season four finals quarreled over 10 million viewers in total and more than 9 million on the Paramount Network alone, per. “Variety”. This represents an increase of 81% compared to the finale of season three (5.2 million viewers). These are numbers that networks dream of, and it demonstrates the power of the series as it continues to capture viewers.
Yellowstone is the number 1 series in 2021 across Broadcast, Cable and Premium for both the 18-49 and 25-54 demo, a key measure for advertisers. When dividing the numbers, a total of 9.3 million viewers watched the Paramount Network, while its simulcast on CMT pushed the viewership to 10.3 million viewers. This makes the season four finale of Yellowstone the most watched cable TV show on cable since The Walking Dead season three premiered in October 2017. Chris McCarthy, President and CEO, ViacomCBS Media Networks, had this to say about the season finale numbers :
“Yellowstone continues to break records with more than 11 million viewers tuning in to the season finale, proving that we have hit a cultural nerve – from the country center to each of the coasts – and still have plenty of room to grow linearly. Our franchise strategy Yellowstone into a universe of series to boost growth for Paramount + is already exceeding expectations 1883 and Mayor of Kingstown turns out to be two of the top titles. “
That Yellowstone the universe has continued to grow with 1883 and Mayor of Kingstown also gives solid results on Paramount +. The two series have helped the streamer launch original series on the platform to great success and significant subscriber growth.
Co-created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, Yellowstone follows the Dutton family, led by John Dutton, who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States, under constant attack by those it borders – land developers, a Native American reservation, and the United States’ first national park. The series stars Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reily, Cole Hauser, Jefferson White, Wes Bentley and Will Patton. Season four also sees new cast that includes Piper Perabo as Summer Higgins, an outside protester against industrialized agriculture, Jacki Weaver as Caroline Warner, CEO of Market Equities, Kathryn Kelly as Emily, a veterinary technician who comes close to a cowboy ; and Finn Little as Carter, a young boy who is like a miniature version of Rip.
