A man died Sunday morning in a crash that shut down Interstate 80 in San Pablo.
The accident happened around kl. 6:15 a.m. when a white van driving east on I-80 near the San Pablo Dam Road exit lost control and hit the middle partition, according to the California Highway Patrol. Three other cars then hit the van.
A man in one of the three cars was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released, awaiting notification from relatives.
Two other people were hospitalized with serious injuries, the highway patrol said. Their conditions were not immediately available.
The accident is under investigation. From around kl. At 7:40 a.m., Eastbound Interstate 80 remained closed at San Pablo Dam Road.
