PACOIMA (CBSLA) – A single-engine plane crashed near train tracks near Whiteman Airport in Pacoima on Sunday.
It happened around noon. 14.30. The only occupant was pulled from the plane by attendees before firefighters arrived and was medically evaluated by the Los Angeles Fire Department before being transported to a regional trauma center.

The pilot has not yet been identified.
The incident did not cause a fire, but led to a minor fuel spill, which has been contained, firefighters said.

The damaged aircraft remains on or near the Metrolink Antelope Valley train tracks. All train movement is currently restricted in this area.
San Fernando Road and Osborne Street were closed during the incident for an unknown duration. Motorists were urged to seek an alternative route.
