Visiting Assistant Professor of Engineering (2022)



Washington and Lee University seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Engineering beginning fall 2022. This is a two-year, full-time position, authorized due to a leave and sustained enrollment demand. The person we hire will teach six courses in each academic year and will contribute to discussions on expanding the curriculum to include coursework at the intersection of engineering design and society. The Department of Physics and Engineering prizes the teacher-scholar model and is dedicated to engaging with our exceptional students in small classes.

Applicants should have demonstrated interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduates and ability to teach courses across an engineering curriculum, including engineering mechanics or circuits and topical courses at the upper level. Ph.D. in a field of engineering, or an M.S. or M.E. with relevant industry experience is required. Strong candidates nearing completion of the Ph.D may also be considered for appointment at the rank of visiting instructor.
