Bill’s Joe Schoen, Chiefs ‘Ryan Poles among Giants’ interview requests as GM search begins – Boston Herald

The Giants immediately began requesting interviews with potential GM candidates after fired Dave Gettleman on Monday.

Here is a quick look at the banknotes inserted so far:

Joe Schoen – Assistant GM, Buffalo Bills

The shoe is in its 20th NFL season and its fifth with the Bills. He worked for the Miami Dolphins for nearly a decade before, the last three years as director of gaming personnel, after seven years at Bill’s GM Brandon Beane in Carolina (2001-2007). Schoen interviewed for the Panthers’ GM vacancy last year. He played wide receiver in Division III Depauw (Class 2001) and comes from Elkhart, Ind.

Ryan Poles – Assistant Director of Personnel, Kansas City Chiefs

Poles is in his 13th NFL / Chiefs season and his fourth in his current role, overseeing all aspects of the college scouting process. Canandaigua, NY, native interviewed for the Panthers’ GM job last year, playing offensive tackle for five seasons at Boston College (2003-07), and protecting Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan.

Ryan Cowden – VP of Player Staff, Tennessee Titans

Cowden is in his 22nd NFL season, sixth with the Titans and fourth in his current role. He oversees the entire Boy Scout department, both college and pro. He spent 16 seasons with the Carolina Panthers, including three in scouting under Dave Gettleman, before moving to Tennessee in 2016. He interviewed for Washington’s GM vacancy last year.

Monti Ossenfort – Director of Player Personnel, Tennessee Titans

Ossenfort is in its 20th NFL season and number two with the Titans. He worked long hours for the New England Patriots (2003-2019), including eight seasons as a colleague of Joe Judge (2012-19). He has been interviewed for GM positions in Cleveland (2020) and Carolina (2021) for the past two years. He played quarterback at the University of Minnesota-Morris (Class 2000).

Adrian Wilson – VP for staff, Arizona Cardinals

Wilson, a former Cardinals All-Pro safety, is in his seventh season with Arizona’s scouting division and his first in his current role. The five-time captain is one of only six players in NFL history with at least 25 sacks and 25 INTs in his career. And he is considered a clear future GM in the league. From High Point, NC

Adam Peters (49ers) – Assistant GM, San Francisco 49ers

Peters is in his 18th NFL season and fourth in his current role with the Niners. He worked from 2009-16 for the Denver Broncos, where he helped acquire 27 players in draft and college free agency, which was the key to the Super Bowl 50 winning team. Peters, a former UCLA defender, first worked in scouting for the Patriots (2003-08). From Cupertino, California.

Ran Carthon (49ers) – Director of Player Staff, San Francisco 49ers

Carthon is the son of former Giants defender Maurice Carthon. He is in his first season in his current role after five seasons as Niners’ director of pro personnel. The former Florida standout, running back, spent three years in the NFL with the Colts. He then broke into scout and staff work with the Falcons (2008-11) and the Rams (2012-16).
