Indie game about an eldritch plant store launches on January 21st

Ever since Alice Bee first played Strange Horticulture, she has been raving about the mysteries and merchandising by running a strange plant store. Lots of studying and cataloging plants, serving customers and feeling proud of your small business. Plus solving mysteries in ways that only an occult plant store can. Not long to wait now as the producers today announced that the game will launch on January 21st.

Strange Horticulture is partly about running a plant store, serving customers and finding new stock. You must learn to identify plants and perhaps be able to use the mysterious effects of some to influence events. Oh, you too are involved in an occult mystery of witches and secrets and murder.

“Later, as you receive strange clues in dreams and follow them to find new and exciting plants in strange swampy places in the area, I became more and more suspicious,” Alice explained after playing a preview. “In between customers, I would pore across the map with these clues – one that I particularly enjoyed was just a torn map with a pencil X, as well as another that asked me to find the intersection of four places – and would quickly turn back my papers and letters to my desk drawer as a new customer approached. I did not want them to see what I had discovered or the strange things I was working on … “

She later called it one of our most anticipated games of 2022.

Strange Horticulture launches January 21 on Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store. An updated demo is available from Steam.

This for some reason makes me want to play Wunderdoktor again.
