Description Summary

Initiate, contribute, and manage development of multiple projects, devices and study protocols at direction
of Principal Investigator. Leads research team to design and conduct qualitative research, instrument development projects which includes
proposal development, research design, data collection, survey design, qualitative analyses, and report writing to name a few. Develops
literature, reports, manuscripts, and publications to drive funding opportunities. Develops relationships with existing and potential
funders, research partners, research sites, regulatory offices, and affiliated organizations as part of stakeholder management. Responsible
to train and supervise staff, interface with existing postdoctoral fellows and students in the laboratory. Develop and implement all safety
procedures in the lab including drafting and implementing new SOPs and protocols for general laboratory practices, in compliance with Safety
regulations. Close partnership with Principal Investigator to ensure success of all research/clinical studies.

Description

The primary purpose of this position is to manage the staff and daily operations of the canine colony. This
position will be responsible for: 1) creating and managing protocols for the maintenance of good health in the colony 2) handling and
managing the selective breeding of animals as required; 3) establish appropriate procedures and oversee staff in animal husbandry. Candidate
will also write SOPs for procedures/processes followed in facility. Required vet-tech procedures for this position will include: blood
collection, handling anesthesia-related procedures, pre-surgical medication preparation, collecting tissue, establishing, and overseeing
procedures in the colony to ensure regulatory compliance with IACUC/USDA/AAALAC. Candidate will act as liaison for regulatory agencies.
Maintenance of DEA records, controlled substances, and licensing.

This position will require overall management responsibilities for
the facility, hiring senior staff/animal care technicians, performance management of staff, time reporting, scheduling. This position will
be the primary liaison for communication with directors of the facility. Availability to be on call as needed is required – which may
include evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
Licensed veterinary technician required with 5-7 years’ experience. Driver’s
license will also be required. Extensive research experience is required and familiarity with working alongside principal investigators is
strongly preferred. Applicant must be able to work independently under supervision of the two Directors of the facility; management and
supervisory experience required. Position contingent upon funding. POSITION LOCATED IN KENNETT SQUARE, PA – NO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
AVAILABLE.
