Halo infinite launched with a bunch of new weapons in the series, some of which have features that are not immediately visible. The heat wave can shoot both vertically and horizontally. The missing gives 117 percent more damage if you are playing against a professional. And – hopefully you sit down for this – the disruptor, a side arm that emits electrically charged ammunition, is fully automatic.
The revelation is news to some Halo infinite players, as evidenced by one semi-viral Reddit post expresses shock at the discovery.
“Boys, the disruptor is fully automatic,” Reddit user -ranmori wrote. “Just like you hold it down and it keeps shooting. It would be crazy if you played 100 hours and only found out today, right? Haha yeah, it could not be me.”

Instinct here may evoke a cramped response, and some players actually did just that, chiming in with cheeky feedback on how the guard beam (basically a laser beam) and the warthog tower (a chaingun) were also fully automatic. But a good portion of the comments, which currently number more than 1,000, express surprise. Some called the whole thread “mentally retarded,” while others said it “changes everything.” A select few are a little more self-ironic, with a self-described disruptor fan who goes so far as to say, “I’m an idiot.”
People do not have to be so down in the landfills. In fairness, if you jump right in Halo infinite, the disruptor’s fully automatic bona fides are not mentioned in front and in the middle, even if you mess around with the weapons training sessions. And there is historical precedent at stake. glory‘s side weapons have typically been semi-automatic weapons. The impulse, if you have played glory a while, is to hammer the right trigger with each shot.
I can not say it took me 100 hours, but I certainly did not know about the hidden power of the disruptor until a friend told me, oh, a month or so ago, which radically changed how I used the gun. (The previously insurmountable “Get 10 kills with the disruptor in PvP” challenge became eminently manageable.) Based on the talk, I’m not alone – nor is the disruptor the only surprisingly fully automatic weapon throw Halo infinite players for a loop.
“It took me a while to figure out that the bulldog was fully automatic, but this one really got me going,” said Reddit user Classics22 in response to the original thread.
“… The Bulldog is fully automatic?” asked ranmori.
Yes. I know. I’m just as surprised as you – and everyone else.
See. I play a lot Halo infinite, and only last night did the bulldog discover a replacement for glory‘s shotgun, has a fast firing state. (The weapon’s official description in weapon drills is “quick firing,” does not fire automatically, okay?) While a couple of friends and I were doing fiesta challenges for the last weekly challenge, one was like, “Wait, did you guys fire? that the shotgun is automatic? ” to universal shock in Discord.
Neither the bulldog nor the disruptor is the first time Halo infinite‘s community has responded with shock at an weapon’s unexpectedly rapid firing rate. Typically when glory players come to Infinite for the first time, they are taken by surprise by the commanding officer. Look, it’s pretty much like DMR – a semi-automatic rifle that’s been a fixed series for some time, but is completely absent in Halo infinite– all the way down to the scope. If you’ve used DMR, you’ll probably try to use the command in the same way: as a single-shot single-shot rifle. But no. It’s quick firing (though you’ll find better luck if you limit your shots to short bursts).
So it made me wonder what other slanted weapons could be fired continuously when you hold the trigger down, which made me test the whole thing Infinite‘s arsenal. For example, the pulse carbine? Yep, that’s automatic firing! It’s not the heat wave and the stalker rifle, for which we should all thank 343. But the hydra, a missile launcher that first appeared in Halo 5, is apparently fully automatic. Hi, maybe I’m finally starting to get killed with it.
