3 earthquakes rattled near the Anza area, with the largest a magnitude of 3.9

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 hit on Wednesday at. 19.19, about 14 miles from Anza, followed by two minor earthquakes, US Geological Survey reported.

The first earthquake occurred about 15 miles from La Quinta, 25 miles from Palm Springs and 62 miles from San Diego, the USGS said. It happened at a depth of 8.6 miles.

The first earthquake was followed by one The quake at 2.6 14 miles from La Quinta and then one 2.9 earthquake 14 miles from Anza.
