Eternals: Harry Styles’ closing text cameo explained – who is Eros?

Eternal has finally landed on Disney +, which means that those who did not catch the blockbuster in cinemas last year can finally find out what the trouble is about – and of course see for themselves Harry Styles’ epic debut.

But who plays the award-winning singer and actor, and what does his post-credit cameo mean for the future Marvel Cinematic Universe? Keep reading to find out …

Long before Eternals was released, there were rumors that the former One Direction star was somehow involved in the superhero movie, and those suspicions were finally confirmed when the movie reached cinemas last year. Partly through the film’s credits, he is introduced as Eros, brother of the villain Thanos.

Eros, aka Starfox, surprises Then (Angelina Jolie), Makkari (Lauren Ridloff) and Druig (Barry Keoghan) aboard Domo. Although his appearance is short, it has been teased that we could see much more of Harry’s character in future MCU films.

Speaking in December 2021, Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige said there are certainly ideas to expand Starfox’s history, ien MCU in a larger way, though one Eternal the successor has not yet been confirmed.

“It was fun, it was fun. A teaser tag at the end of the movie,” he recounted Entertainment tonight. “We have a lot of fans outside the studio, of course. But inside the studio of Starfox, of that nature, of Eros. So as the MCU has expanded into the cosmic arena, there are ideas.”

Meanwhile, according to Marvel insiders, a solo film focusing on Starfox is being considered. We’ll have to wait and see what Harry’s future in the franchise brings, but in the meantime he has plenty of other exciting film projects on the way.

He is ready to team up with Kronens Emma Corrin for romantic drama, My policeman and also plays opposite Florence Pugh in the psychological thriller Just calm down darling, who has been directed by his girlfriend, Olivia Wilde, who will both be coming in 2022.
