Silk returns to the Marvel universe at the perfect time

Silk returns to action in a brand new preview of her latest series, in which Cindy Moon returns to the Marvel universe.

Warning! Spoilers for Silk # 1 of Marvel Comics below

Marvels Silk is back in action in a brand new series that sees the web slinger’s welcome return to the Marvel universe. Cindy Moon is one of the best spider heroes in comics, with the hero’s most recent ongoing series ending last year. Now Silk is back Silk # 1 by Marvel Comics – and with a time jump of three months, apparently.

Silk was introduced in The amazing Spider-Man # 4 and was created by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos. Cindy Moon was bitten by the same radioactive spider as Peter Parker, but instead of embracing her powers immediately, she remained in a bunker for more than a decade in an attempt to hide from the villain Morlun. Moon would eventually take over the silk cloak and star in several Spider-Man-related adventures, as well as being a member of Agents for Atlas. The Korean-American hero’s last series focused on Moon’s career as a journalist with Threats and Menaces and her investigations into Fujinet. It was rumored that Cindy Moon would make a small appearance in MCU Spider Man movies and must have a series based around her from Sony TV.

The spider-powered hero returns to action in a whole new preview of Silk # 1 (H / T CBR) by Emily Kim, Takeshi Miyazawa, Ian Herring and VC’s Ariana Maher. The new look opens with a group of bank robbers in New York running from a web attack. Silk calls the robbers losers while a group of devoted fans watch. Unfortunately, a teenager who films the action ignores the danger around him and gets caught by the criminals that Silk pursues.

It’s great to see Marvel Comics tell new Silk stories, as the web-slinger is an incredible hero who has been wildly underused over the last few years. Hopefully, Silk # 1 is the start of a resurgence for the character, and she gets a higher profile in the comics and beyond. Silk # 1 of Marvel Comics arrives at comic book stores on Wednesday.
