Two people face dangerous driving charges as a result of a fatal collision on Trans Canada near Paddy’s Pond on September 21 last year.
A 50-year-old man riding an ATV was hit by a vehicle leaving Trans Canada.
The people in the car were injured in the accident.
RCMP investigators determined that two cars were driving too fast on Trans Canada moments before the crash.
One of the two vehicles lost control and collided head-on with the ATV, which was driving on the shoulder of the highway.
21-year-old Mackenzie Sparrow from Brigus drove the car that hit and killed the ATV driver, while Eric Shea from St. John’s was driving the other vehicle.
Both motorists have been charged with dangerous driving with death and dangerous driving with violence.
Sparrow is scheduled to appear in court today, while Shea is scheduled to appear in court on March 11.
