A Michigan woman was arrested in Washington DC after authorities said she was found with a small gun of gunfire in her truck outside the U.S. Capitol Police headquarters on Wednesday, the day after the first anniversary of the uprising.
Kery Lynn McAttee, 58, told police she was driving to the building because she wanted to talk to them about “information she had about January 6, 2021,” police said in a press release.
Around. 13.40 McAttee parked his 2001 Chevrolet Silverado in the “No Parking Zone” in front of the building. While talking to officers, one of the agents discovered a gun case and the butt of a long gun in Silverado.
A search of the truck revealed four guns: a loaded Mossberg .410 caliber shotgun, an unloaded Remington Nylon 66 .22 caliber rifle, an unloaded Connecticut Valley Arms caliber .50 muzzle loader and a gamo pallet gun.
McAttee has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of unregistered ammunition, unlawful possession / transportation of a semi-automatic rifle and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm.
Police did not disclose further details, including the “information” McAttee said she had about the Capitol riot.
Right-wing media outlets have spread baseless conspiracy theories that the FBI instigated the uprising.
Fourteen residents of Michigan have been charged with participating in the riot.
