Bradenton man guilty of fabricating counterfeit currency – CBS Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. (CW44 News At 10) – Anthony Wayne Smith (58, Bradenton) has pleaded guilty to producing counterfeit currency. He risks a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison. A verdict is scheduled for April 6, 2022.

According to the appeals agreement, Smith produced U.S. Federal Reserve banknotes at his home in Bradenton. During the execution of a search warrant at Smith’s residence, law enforcement officers found, among other things, a large amount of counterfeit banknotes hidden throughout the home, textured printing paper and printers.

In addition, Smith’s laptop contained digital images of US Federal Reserve banknotes that had been used for the production and manufacture of counterfeit money.
