The Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and
Inclusion encourages applications for a Senior DEI Consultant/DEI Consultant! We have three openings available as
we are building this new team.
These positions support and advise units and offices at CU Boulder regarding issues of diversity,
equity, and inclusion through providing expertise in the areas of diversity in higher education, research, assessment, student success,
inclusive talent acquisition, leadership development, and/or organizational change. They will assist colleagues in operationalizing
strategic goals and evaluating policy and programmatic impact in support of the campus’ priorities. The roles may be filled at either a
consultant or senior consultant level based on qualifications.

Key Responsibilities Will Be
Assessment, evaluation, and project management
- Assist units and campus partners in
operationalizing strategic goals for diversity, equity, and inclusion (e.g., assessment plan creation, data collection and analysis,
communication of results).
- Perform sensitive or high-level administrative support functions (e.g., project or team lead, writing,
planning, editing) needed to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion for new initiatives.
- Build relationships and consult for
leadership development (e.g., standing meetings, communications, creating and/or implementing curriculum and models, consensus
- Research and benchmark diversity and equity in higher education (e.g., creating annotated bibliographies, standard
methodologies, presentations, models, evaluating research, networking with colleagues at other universities).
- Engage administrative
support and organize general office duties; archive and organize; provide leadership within the SVC-DEI office (i.e., onboarding new team
- Assist colleagues in analyzing climate survey results, action planning, and evaluating policy and programmatic impact in
support of the campus’ priorities.

These positions will be filled at either a senior or consultant level. Senior
DEI Consultant Salary Range: $82,000 – $132,00. DEI Consultant Salary Range: $65,000 – $107,000. Onboarding assistance is

Minimum requirement for all applicants: Master’s degree or higher, or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
At the Senior DEI Consultant level: 3+ years of related experience is
What You Will Need
Knowledge of strategic planning
and national diversity landscape, particularly in, but not limited to, higher education. Ability to critically apply and provide assistance
to others for engaging assessment as a process and approach to program evaluation and development; management and analysis of data and
budget. Ability to create curricula for DEI and assessment programs and apply knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of a
particular field of specialization to complete difficult assignments.
- Content knowledge applicable for advancing DEI in higher
education (e.g., student success, education and training, leadership or organizational development)
- Assessment and evaluation for
advancing DEI (e.g., creating goals, outcomes, assessment plans, identifying metrics and indicators)
- Synthesizing information for
diverse audiences (e.g., translating climate survey results, creating research briefs and literature
Accountability and self-management
Self-management of tasks with supervisor consultation; high
degree of personal accountability and organizational skills required.
Teamwork and leadership
work with a team of approximately four other professionals and two administrative assistants, ad hoc work groups, and project management
teams; perform consensus building and collaboration. Ability to function at level immediately below executive leadership and to support and
create conditions for productive and functional team dynamics; take ownership for team goals and inspire others.

What We Would Like You To Have
