The first film in the franchise, The Santa Clause from 1994, followed the divorced father Scott Calvin (Allen), who accidentally kills Santa Claus and is transported to the North Pole with his young son Charlie (Eric Lloyd), where he is told that he must take Santa’s place.

Allen wore a 35-pound fat suit including prostheses and underwent four hours of makeup application to play Santa.

Santa Claus was a hit, earning $ 189 million at the box office and spawned two sequels, The Santa Clause 2 (2002) and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006).

In Santa 2, Calvin has grown to love his role as Santa after six years, but finds that he must find a wife before Christmas Eve or lose his place as Santa.

He returns home, where he reunites with Charlie, who ended up on the naughty list, and falls in love with Carol Newman (Elizabeth Mitchell).
