A typical day includes:

  • Preparing work areas for food production and service.
  • Preparing and delivering food.
  • Supporting special events.
  • Performing tasks related to appearance, safety and sanitation of food production and service.
  • Producing food and being responsible for following recipes and accepted culinary practices.

This position is with University Enterprises and Events at the University of Notre Dame and is eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus (1/2 paid at 90 and 180 days of continuous employment). Candidates are only eligible if they are a new employee to the University – current Notre Dame employees who transfer are not eligible. Other rules and conditions apply.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
1 to 2 years experience.
Demonstrate basic kitchen skills.
Fundamental working knowledge of sauting, braising, grilling, broiling, poaching, roasting, baking and basic sauce preparation.
Obtain ServSafe Aller-Train and National Restaurant Association Sanitation certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:
Associates degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent.
