After Trump’s infamous ‘Grab them by the p ****’ discussion with Billy Bush on Access Hollywood was published in October 2016, Voight took to Twitter to defend then-candidate Trump.
“I do not know too many men who have not expressed a kind of similar sexual condition to women, especially in their younger years,” Voight said, to which Schreiber replied, “Fortunately, they are not running for president.”
Following the 2020 election, Voight took to Twitter to protest the results, declaring President Joe Biden’s victory fraudulent.

Schreiber responded to a defense of Trump in 2016 following the release of the Access Hollywood tape
“My fellow Americans, I stand here with all the feelings I do, disgusted by this lie that Biden has been elected,” Voight said. ‘As if we do not all know the truth. And when you try to deceive, we know that you can not get away with what will be a price to pay.
He added, ‘This is now our biggest fight since the Civil War: the fight for justice against Satan – yes, Satan,’ and added that those on the left are politically ‘evil, corrupt, and they want to tear this nation down.’
When asked for a comment on Voight’s statement, Schreiber provided a diplomatic response in which he condemned Voight’s ideas while praising him personally.
“I love Jon and will always do so,” Schreiber said. ‘Even if he incites violence and division … Although I may not share his views on politics or politics, he will always be my brother. To me, that is the guiding principle this country is built on. More important than ever … ‘
