Doctor Strange 2 can solve Marvel’s X-Men problem according to a crazy leak

When Kevin Feige announced the first MCU Phase 4 titles in late July 2019, he ended the Comic-Con panel by saying he did not even have time to talk about mutants. It was hot on the heels of Disney’s Fox acquisition that gave Marvel the rights to X-Men, Deadpool and Fantastic Four. More than two years later, Feige still did not find time to talk about MCU’s X-Men. But Doctor Strange 2 can tell us everything we need to know, which potentially solves the MCU’s big problem with the mutants from X-Men.

We’ve already heard lots of rumors teasing X-Men cameos for Multiverse of madness, and it is quite understandable. Everything and the kitchen sink are rumored to appear in this sequel. But there’s a pretty crazy one Doctor Strange 2 Plot rumors are circulating that offer an ingenious way for the MCU to get its mutants.

Before we explain how Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness maybe bring the X-Men to the MCU, we’ll have to warn you about that large spoilers can follow below.

MCUs mutant problem

Marvel wanted to have the mutants in the MCU as far back as the original Iron Man. A deleted scene with Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) would have caused the former to name the mutants. But Fox made mutant movies back then. And at the time, MCU meant nothing in the world of superhero movies.

About fifteen years later, the MCU is bigger than Fox’s X-Men franchise ever was. And Disney owns all Fox properties now, so it can use the mutants in movies like e.g. Doctor Strange 2 and other MCU projects. But integrating the X-Men into the MCU timeline is challenging.

Marvel needs to find a way to add the mutants to the story so that it makes sense. We have not had any X-Men in the MCU so far, though mutants should populate the universe now.

Marvel does not have to stick to the comics. It can develop alternative origin stories for all the mutants it wants to have in the MCU. We’ve always assumed that Marvel could use MCU events like the Infinity Stone snap Infinity War and Playoffs to explain the arrival of mutants. Similarly, the failed appearance in Eternal may be the kind of event that triggers the X gene in mutants.

Then there is the multiverse, which is where Doctor Strange 2 comes in. This is another easy way that mutants can land in the MCU.

Now we have some suspected plot leaks that this is exactly how it will happen.

Rumors about Doctor Strange 2 and mutants

Rumors dating back to early 2020 claimed it Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness will contain various mutant cameos. The list included the most obvious choices: Ryan Reynolds’s Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. But new claims last year said Professor X will appear in the multiverse as head of the Illuminati. Patrick Stewart is reportedly set to play that version of Charles Xavier. But James McAvoy can also play the younger Charles, other rumors said.

Recent reports say that a bunch of X-Men from the Fox universe will join Charles in the fight against Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen). Wanda is, after all, a mutant in the comics. She is the daughter of Magneto.

The credible source

It so happens that a trusted insider said a few days ago that Wanda will do something at the end of Doctor Strange 2 which brings the mutants to the MCU. We have no idea what, but the speculation is that it will involve a powerful incantation of some kind.

Wanda uses a “No More Mutants’ spell to get rid of mutants in the comics. It makes sense for Marvel to adapt or reverse the iconic event to meet its MCU needs.

The wild Doctor Strange 2 plot twist

This brings us to the new Doctor Strange 2 plot leaks that give us a wild explanation for having the mutants in the MCU.

A Twitter user who goes by the name Mole culture claims that the spell “No More Mutants” already took place in the MCU. X-Men tried to prevent Wanda from being reunited with her children from another reality, so Wanda removed them completely from the timeline.

As a result, Doctor Strange 2 ends up allegedly having Wanda regret what happened. So the mutants return to MCU. As a result, the Fox movies will be re-enabled to make them work in the MCU.

Moreover, Deadpool may be the mutant who remembers the past, not Wolverine, as we heard earlier.

It may sound crazy, but there is a way it can happen. We will explain it all in the future.

In the meantime, we have to wait for more Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness plot spoilers to see if Wanda’s “No More Mutants” spell can actually be part of the sequel and if she will bring the mutants to MCU.
