The Tesla driver is charged with a fatal autopilot accident

The fatal collision took place in the suburb of Gardena on the night of December 29, 2019. Police said the 27-year-old Riad was driving off a highway in his black Model S as he drove through a red light and crashed into a Honda Civic, killing the two people inside. Both Gilberto Alcazar Lopez and Maria Guadalupe Nieves-Lopez died on the spot, while the Riad and a female passenger in the Tesla were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
