Obi-Wan Kenobi Brings Back Another Major Star Wars Actor

Sightings of a certain actor on set lead to theories that a noted character from the Star Wars prequels will return in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

An important character from the prequels may be joining the cast of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

According to, actor Jimmy Smits was seen on the set of Kenobi filming with headliner Ewan MacGregor. This has led to speculation that Smits will be reprising his role as Senator Bail Organa, which he previously played in Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith spirit Rogue One. On top of being one of the most prominent political leaders on Alderaan, Senator Organa is also the adoptive father of Princess Leia and a founding member of the Rebel Alliance. Moreover, he’s one of the few people in the era of the Empire to know that Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala’s children survived, as well as the locations of some of the last living Jedi.

It’s also rumored that the senator’s wife, Breha Organa, will be a part of Kenobithough it’s unknown if Rebecca Jackson Mendoza will reprise her role from Revenge of the Sith. If this proves true, Smits and Mendoza would join the already cast Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse as Owen and Beru Lars, the aunt and uncle of Luke Skywalker, also reprising their roles from the prequels.

Of course, Kenobi‘s most surprising reprisal will be Hayden Christensen returning as Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader. Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy recently spoke about seeing McGregor and Christensen reunited, saying, “The thing that was most exciting was being on the set and watching the two of them get excited. They had not seen one another in a long time. I was surprised at just how incredibly emotional it was for each of them to find themselves back in these roles, and just realizing how important Star Wars was to each of them. It was the beginning of their careers. “

Additionally, Kumail Nanjiani will be part of the cast as “a new version of a type of Star Wars character we’ve seen before. “
