Patrick Stewart Teases Superman-Like Resurrection of His X-Men Hero

With how pleased audiences seemed to be with the Multiverse shenanigans in Spider-Man: No Way HomeBenedict Cumberbatch’s upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is going to take that to the next level. While Tom Holland’s adventure provided an introduction to the general audience, the Sam Raimi-directed picture will throw viewers into the deep end.

The latest trailer for the project showcased countless new twists and turns fans should expect. There’s a zombie Doctor Strange, Gargantos terrorizing New York City, mysterious Ultron bots, and countless Stephen Strange Variants.

Among the many new elements teased, one of them was a familiar voice: Patrick Stewart’s Professor Xavier. But is it him? While the character has died previously, that does not rule out his appearance.

Now, the actor behind the famous mutant commented on the famous professor’s habit of returning from the dead by comparing it to the iconic Superman.

In the latest trailer for the film, the actor’s voice can be heard off-screen — but the mystery character remains offscreen. So is this actually Professor Xavier?

Stewart did not give a direct answer but did tease how “Professor Xavier has already died twice … he must have some sort of Superman quality:”

“This is a very delicate area … All I can say to you is we’ll have to see. But bear in mind that Professor Xavier has already died twice. I think he must have some sort of Superman quality. ”

Marvel X-Men Resurrected?

Professor X isn’t quite Superman; the Kryptonian is not known for constantly coming back from the dead all that often. Maybe Patrick Stewart watched Zack Snyder’s Justice League a few too many times.

One of the biggest questions surrounding the many cameos in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is: will the MCU see its first mutants? The Multiverse is certainly an easy avenue for achieving such a feat.

It would be strange for them to bring in Patrick Stewart as anyone other than Professor X or a Variant of the same famous mutant leader.

Of course, there’s also the chance he will be an original character. However, using No Way Home as the prime example, fans love to see those legacy characters reappear — Patrick Stewart would be one of the top names viewers would want to see most.

Maybe Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will join him?
