The sequel to the 2011 movie sees Puss in Boots discover that his passion for adventure has taken its toll, leaving him with just one of the legendary nine lives that any cat is said to have. The protagonist then embarks on an epic journey to find the mythical Last Wish, in order to restore his nine lives.

The cast also features Narcos star Wagner Moura, Black Widow’s Ray Winstone, comedian John Mulaney (also know for lending his voice to Netflix’s Big Mouth), High Fidelity and The Lost City’s Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Anthony Mendez from Jane the Virgin, and Samson Kayo, from Our Flag Means Death and medical comedy Bloods.

The movie has been in development hell since 2014, when a sequel to the original movie – a spin-off to the Shrek franchise where Banderas’ Puss in Boots made his debut – was first announced.
