The Fist of Khonshu reluctantly finds himself working with a new partner in a preview for the upcoming Moon Knight: Black, White and Blood # 1.
Following the season finale of Disney +’s Moon Knight series starring Oscar Isaac, Moon Knight: Black, White and Blood is a new anthology series from Marvel offering fans even more tales starring the Fist of Khonshu. The first issue comes packed with three separate stories, one of which – “So White. Yet, So Dark.” by Murewa Ayodele and Dotun Akande – features a team-up between Marc Spencer / Moon Knight and Spider-Man / Peter Parker.
In the preview, Moon Knight is sitting on a rooftop when he’s greeted by Spider-Man. Before Peter can even get a word out, Moon Knight tells him “the answer is no” to whatever question he’s about to ask. The two converse for a moment, with Peter offering to help Marc become “less busy” by using his “spider-strength and all that” in exchange for an unspecified favor. Moon Knight sighs and reluctantly agrees, leading the two to jump off the roof together and embark on a mission.
Moon Knight and Spider-Man have teamed up before prior to Moon Knight: Black, White and Blood # 1. Published in 1979, Spectacular Spider-Man # 22 sees the two characters briefly battle one another before they realize they’re on the same side. The 1984 Marvel Team-Up # 144 issue also saw Moon Knight and Spider-Man work together to defeat the villainous White Dragon, among other examples.
The issue synposis for Moon Knight: Black, White and Blood # 1 reads, “A BLOOD MOON RISES – AND ITS CONTENTS ARE BLACK, WHITE & RED! A bevy of comicdom’s finest creators put their mark upon the Fist of Khonshu in stories depicted in stark black, white and blood-red! Jonathan Hickman and Chris Bachalo introduces the all-different Moon Knight of the future! Marc Guggenheim and Jorge Fornés tell a Moon Knight adventure in reverse! And Murewa Ayodele and Dotun Akande team the white-clad crusader up with the Amazing Spider-Man for a harrowing night of adventure! “
Additional contributors to Moon Knight: Black, White and Blood # 1 include Jonathan Hickman, Chris Bachalo, Marc Guggenheim, Jorge Fornés and VC’s Cory Petit, with cover art by Bill Sienkiewicz and variant cover art by Bachalo, Jeff Dekal, Stan Sakai and Emi Fujii. The issue releases May 11 from Marvel.
