After a year with virtually nothing, the AAU basketball circuit has been back in full force this summer.
The NCAA head coach and media members who returned to the gym for personal evaluations were a critical step in adding some sort of normality back to the spring / summer recruiting cycle.
John Calipari and his renewed coaching staff have been boots on the ground throughout the United States, scouting talent and looking for the next generation of feral cats, especially the class of 2022.
Two 5-star players have emerged as serious targets for Kentucky – Cason Wallace and Adem Bona – reportedly set to visit Lexington in the coming weeks.
Kentucky Sports Radio’s Jack Pilgrim broke the news on Wednesday.
Adem Bona tells KSR that he has a visit to Kentucky scheduled for August.
Cason Wallace will also be visiting Lexington in the coming weeks. Will be a busy month for the British coaching staff.

Cason Wallace is widely considered to be one of the best overall guards in the 2022 class.
Following his recent dominant performance in the Nike Peach Jam, he has positioned himself to soar up the player rankings heading into the fall.
Currently, 247 Sports ranks Richardson (TX) as the 18th best player in the class, but expect that to change before all is said and done.
Wallace looked like a top-10 prospect, while the average over 15 points per game. Fight and shoot 37% deep on Peach Jam. By all accounts, he is simply a winner who does what his team needs him to do.
It took longer than many expected, but Wallace actually received an offer from Kentucky last week. Tennessee had been seen as the favorite, but John Calipari clearly feels confident in his chances of bringing him to Lexington.
The Jai Lucas-Texas pipeline continues to impact Kentucky, and we’re just scratching the surface.

Wallace is also considered one of the greatest defenders in the nation, and many believe that it is his defensive instincts that will ultimately shape his identity as a player. Some consider him the best two-way guard in the nation, which is the kind of guard Calipari loves having to run the show.
In addition to the Wallace news, Bona is scheduled to be on Kentucky’s campus sometime in August.
Also a 5-star recruit at 247 Sports, while Bona is ranked ninth overall, is a raw prospect with plenty of uphill. His game is based on rim races and finishing with aggression at the rim. He can run the floor at the elite level and has a strong frame.
Bona may be overshadowed a bit considering his class has Jalen Duren (for now), Dereck Lively, Vince Iwuchukwu and Kyle Filipowski, just to name a few.
However, Bona has plenty of potential and his visit to Lexington may prove to be big for Calipari and his coaching staff.
