Céline Dion announced on Saturday that she is canceling the rest of the dates on a scheduled tour of cities in North America, including concerts on March 28 and 29 at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena.
The singer had completed 52 shows on the Courage World Tour before stopping it when the COVID-19 pandemic spread across North America in March 2020.
According to a statement posted on Twitter, she has since had to be treated for “severe and persistent muscle spasms that prevent her from performing and her recovery is taking longer than she hoped. Her medical team continues to evaluate and treat the condition. . “
Dion tweeted a message to fans along with the release, writing: “I really hoped I would be good to go now, but I suppose I just need to be more patient and follow the cure that my doctors prescribe. There is a lot of organization and preparation that goes into our shows, and so we have to make decisions today that will affect the plans two months later. ”
The shows were scheduled between March 9 and April 22. In addition to Vancouver, she also had to visit Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Edmonton. The release-listed tickets purchased with credit through an authorized ticket dealer are automatically refunded to the credit card.
