Chicago fire rescue worker trapped in hole on South Side

CHICAGO – A worker was rescued from a hole by Chicago Fire Department Wednesday afternoon.

Around. At 12:30 p.m., crews were dispatched to the 6700 block in the East End following the report of a person trapped.

A woman working at the time was trapped with her safety gear still on. The Chicago Fire Department used a vacuum cleaner and tools to free the woman from water and dirt around her.

She was freed from the hole and is in good condition.
