Clifford The Big Red Dog sets new streaming record for Paramount +

Clifford the Big Red Dog made waves at the box office, but its real victory is becoming the most watched original film in Paramount +’s history.

Clifford the Great Red Dog recently earned itself the title of the most-watched original film on ViacomCBS’s streaming platform Paramount +. Clifford first fell on stage in 1963 when Norman Bridwell published the lead in a series of children’s books featuring the big red lovable dog. In the series, Emily is Elizabeth Clifford’s adoring pet owner, and while he was originally born as the little one in his litter, he grew to an enormous size in response to the abundance of love he received from Emily. Overall, Clifford the Great Red Dog includes a kaleidoscope of adventures across 80 books, 2 TV series and a feature film. He is also Scholastic’s official mascot.

Now, reports it Clifford the Great Red Dog has become the most-watched original film on ViacomCBS ‘streaming platform Paramount +. The film arrived on the streaming platform and in cinemas simultaneously last week, and while it was narrowly out of Eternal at the box office, its real success apparently came from home viewing. This does not mean that its time in cinemas has failed in any way – the film’s ticket sales over its opening weekend cost a significant $ 22 million, which beat expectations.

Paramount + has made a couple of major releases on their platform this year, including Paw Patrol: The Movie and Paranormal activity: Next of kin. But even though the platform did not release any official streaming data, Clifford has apparently exceeded them all. This is something of an achievement for the four-legged companion, and in the wake of his sweeping victory, the studio could begin to develop a sequel relatively quickly. The audience will probably find Clifford the Great Red Dog sniffing at screens again in the slightly near future.
