All About You
The SLUCare Orthopedics Department is seeking Clinical Specialist to work along side the Orhtopedic Surgery Physicians.
The opportunities are ideal for individuals who have Lead Medical Assistant, Atheletic Trainer, and/or Practice Management experience. The
role is for an individual who wants to elevate their career from where they currently are and step into a role with more responsibility.
Under immediate supervision, supports assigned providers that specialize in any specialty area.
Develops, implements, evaluates, and manages the care and education of patients; supervises day-to-day activities of patient care; performs
assessments of patients; attends educational in-services. Travels to clinic sites where providers are assigned.
- Educates patients in the outpatient clinics; responds to consultations made by physicians.

- Oversees patient schedules, appointments, and procedures.
- Participates in educational in-services and seminars for
health care providers at Saint Louis University as well as the surrounding area; maintains relevant certifications.
- May oversee work
of Medical Assistants in the clinic.
- Schedules appointments and tests; enters and results POC orders and may pend other orders in
the electronic health record according to orders from and at the direction of provider; pre-certifies patients for insurance coverage for in
clinic procedures; sets up referral contacts; reviews all requisitions (labs and x-rays) for completeness.
- Requests previous medical
records and information from appropriate sources; completes requests for confidential transfer of medical records and
