Job Description Summary:
The Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development serves
the health care community through the management of high quality learning opportunities. This position will manage and provide oversight for
initiatives of the department as assigned by the Executive Director. The position will also manage the creation of new and innovative
approaches to professional and organizational development activities.

Job Description:

Required
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in health care, education, business or related field. Relevant experience may
substitute for the educational requirement on a year for year basis

Work Experience: Two years experience of progressively
responsible experience in an administrative role coordinating initiatives.

Skills:

Excellent organizational ,
interpersonal and communication skills.

Innovation and creative approaches.

Ability to work independently and be self
directed.

Ability to function well as a team member, establish priorities , work flexibly, meet deadlines, establish and achieve work
goals.

Ability to match customer needs to appropriate resources and respond promptly.

High degree of initiative and commitment
to completion of projects as well as ability to execute multiple ongoing projects.

Proficiency in database management, word
processing, e-mail and web searches.

Capability to work effectively with individuals and groups with diverse
backgrounds.

Valid driver’s license and ability to provide personal transportation for reimbursable travel.

Ability to travel
occasionally overnight and out of state.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Master’s degree in health care,
education, business or related field.

Work Experience: Five years of progressively responsible experience in an administrative
role coordinating initiatives.

Skills:

Experience in performance improvement/quality improvement.

Experience in
developing online education.

Job Duties Outlined:

Maintain a working knowledge of accreditation requirements for
continuing education in the health care field.

Apply accreditation requirements to all aspects of continuing education programming
and assure process and documentation reflects accreditation requirements .

Manage and provide oversight for initiatives of the
department as assigned including, but not limited to, continuing education programs. Responsibilities include collaboration to design
curriculum, identification of target audience, delivery methods, marketing, management of exhibits, management of logistical arrangements
for the event and close out of events.

Communicate timely and effectively with clients and others involved in the event including,
but not limited to, speakers, potential supporters , exhibitors and venue representatives.

Utilize program management software and
other business related software selected by department.

Work collaboratively within the department, with other departments in
KUMC/KUHS and outside of the organization.

Maintain accurate and timely financial information for projects according to
department
protocols.

Actively seek and create new opportunities for the department.

Identify own needs for professional development
based upon mission and
goals of the department and organization and actively seek opportunities to meet those needs.
