Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman says he had a ‘pass’ to use N-words, is not racist

Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman addresses its previous use of the N-word.

That TV personality famously caught backlash after leaked sound from a phone call showed him use of the N-word at least six times, which contributed to the cancellation of his show, “Dog Bounty Hunter“at A&E.

In a new interview with “Entertainment tonight, “Chapman, 68, addressed the scandal and explained that he believed he had a” passport “to use such language.

“I thought I had a passport in the black tribe to use [the N-word], like Eminem, “he said, referring to the rapper.

Asked who gave him the “pass” to use the N-word, Chapman said it was the “brothers.”

“I had just gotten out of jail in 1979 after spending 18 months in Texas, and that was probably three-quarters of the black tribe,” he recalled. “So that was a word we used back and forth as maybe a compliment.”

He continued, “My passport expired to use it, but no one told me that. Saying a racist name is not qualified to make you a racist.”

When he was told that the use of the word was a racist act, Dog replied, “I have more black friends than Eminem.”

In addition, he spoke in favor of Black lives mean something movement, refutes allegations that his daughter Bonnie was not invited to her upcoming wedding because of her support for the organization.

“I have never been a racist,” he insisted.

He also pushed back against Bonnie’s allegations that he used homophobic language, explaining that he has no problems with the gay people in his life, including his daughter Lyssa and three men in his staff.

“Would I die for a gay man or a black man?” he said. “I would give up my life.”

Chapman said Bonnie, who has also claimed that her father was unfaithful to his deceased mother – as he also dies, is “being brainwashed” and being “fed what he has to say.”

In a statement to the outlet, Bonnie said her father’s claim of brainwashing was “the dumbest thing my father has ever said.”
