Job Description

The Event Coordinator & Gift Officer coordinates all fundraising events for the College and Alumni Development office; raises non-event dollars for the HCC Foundation; and maintains web pages and creates marketing materials for development efforts. 

Duties include successfully coordinating the Annual Summer Swing Golf Tournament, Screech 5K Glow Run, ATHENA Leadership Breakfast, and other events held by the Foundation; meeting targeted financial goals; raising new dollars for the Foundation by event and non-event revenues, including securing new scholarship donors and directly soliciting new and existing donors. Other duties include being visibly active in community events; using Banner ERP; building event budgets; coordinating volunteers; and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.  

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree required.

Required Experience

One to three years of work experience in fundraising, development, or a related field required is required.  

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Experience coordinating and executing events to a successful outcome and tracking outcomes using metrics. demonstrate ability to build community relationships for fundraising, experience soliciting sponsorship gifts up to $10,000, experience developing event budgets, experience developing a communication strategy, marketing materials and web content for events. Experience using Constant Contact and social media giving platform.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience coordinating volunteers, using an ERP system, and/or writing donor/student stories and press releases is desirable.

General Weekly Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with occasional evening, weekends with advance notice.
