Department of Applied Health Sciences – Human Development and Family Science, Multi-Year Instructor

Indiana State University is seeking well-qualified, collaborative, and diverse faculty member in the discipline of Human Development and Family Science in the Department of Applied Health Sciences. The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential to be an effective teacher who engages with students and faculty, and contributes to community engagement.

Responsibilities

This is a 10-month regular faculty appointment at the instructor rank, with the option to achieve the rank of senior-instructor after the second 3-year appointment. The faculty member will teach 5 undergraduate courses each semester in the Human Development and Family Science program, assist with student recruitment, and provide support in curriculum development and student outcomes assessment.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates must hold the minimum of a Master’s degree in Human Development and Family Science or a closely related discipline. Collegiate teaching experience is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional certification as a CFLE by the National Council on Family Relations is desirable.

The Department of Applied Health Sciences is comprised of 3 undergraduate academic majors-Human Development and Family Science, Nutrition and Wellness, and Public Health, as well as a Certificate in Gerontology and a Master of Public Health. The Human Development and Family Science program was certified by the National Council on Family Relations in 2019. There are 11 full-time faculty serving 227 students.
