Grand Prairie police are investigating fatally hit pedestrian – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Grand Prairie police are investigating a fatal traffic collision with a pedestrian that took place on Friday.

According to the Grand Prairie Police Department, officers on the 2300 block of West Main Street responded at about 6 p.m.

Police said officers responded to a report of a crash and found an adult woman who had been hit by a vehicle on the roadway.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

According to police, investigators determined the woman, who was in a pedestrian crossing, began crossing the street when a black vehicle was driving west along Main Street.

Police said the vehicle did not stop at a red light and hit the pedestrian. The car then ran off from the scene.

Investigators believe the black vehicle, possibly a passenger car, was damaged in the front driver’s side of the car, police said.

Grand Prairie Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $ 2,500 for any information leading to the arrest of the driver. Tipers can remain anonymous by calling 972-988-8477 or online at www.GPCrimeStoppers.org.
