‘Guardians Holiday Special’ has key details for ‘Vol. 3 ‘

With The suicide group coming to theaters early next month, James Gunn can finally turn his attention back to Marvel and the upcoming one Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. (Okay, Gunn has one Peacemaker TV series for DC as well. But it’s already shot too.)

Before Gunn even arrives Vol. 3however, there is also one Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. In the tradition of Star Wars Holiday Special (but, you know, hopefully not entirely creepy), Disney + exclusive will feature Guardians celebrating life or Christmas or whatever, there’s a big holiday in outer space in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While the title suggests that the thesis will be a bit of a goof, Gunn says it’s not just a junk comedy. He told Collider in a recent interview, that Holiday special is an important piece of MCU that leads into Guardians Vol. 3. As he said …

It’s in-canon, it’s about Guardians, you’re learning things that you need to learn before volume 3, and it’s great. I’m really happy with that.

So pay attention Guardians fans. If you cancel your Disney + subscription at any time during the next 18 months, please return it before Vol. 3 comes out. That Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special expected at Disney + around Christmas 2022. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is scheduled to open in theaters on May 5, 2023.
