Higher Walton murder arrest after two bodies found in the house

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after two people were found dead inside a house in Lancashire.

Police were called to Higher Walton in South Ribble at 1:40 p.m., following reports of concern for the safety of residents on the property.

Officers had to force their way into the home on Cann Bridge Street and discovered the bodies of a man and woman.

They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

This evening, Lancashire Police confirmed to LancsLive that a 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A spokesman for the force said: “Detectives have launched a homicide investigation after two people were found dead inside a house in Higher Walton.

“We were called at 13.40 today (November 20) for safety concerns for the occupants of a property on Cann Bridge Street. The officers have forced in and have unfortunately found a man and a woman dead.

“Their death is being treated as suspicious and a scene is currently in place.

“A 35-year-old local man has been arrested tonight on suspicion of their murder. He is still in custody at present.

“The victims’ families have been made aware of the latest developments and are being supported by specially trained officers. Our thoughts remain with them at this time.

“A dedicated team of detectives has been assigned to the case, and investigations are ongoing.

“Security patrols have been stepped up in the area as a security measure.

“Anyone with information should call 101 indicating log 0841 of November 20, 2021.”
