Hocus Pocus 2 First official photo reveals Sanderson Sisters Return

Disney is releasing a first look at the Sanderson sisters’ return in Hocus Pocus 2, which decades later follows the Halloween classic.

As part of Disney + Day, the company has now revealed a first look at the Sanderson Sisters in the upcoming movie Hokus Pokus 2. Hocus Pocus, which originally premiered in 1993, was not a huge money maker in the domestic box office, but lifted itself on home video and eventually grew into a massive cult phenomenon, with many households revisiting it every Halloween. The film starred Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as the iconic Sanderson sisters, a trio of witches who suck youth out of children.

Hocus Pocus 2, which is expected to premiere at Disney + in the fall of 2022, will bring back all three characters as well as the incarnated monster actor Doug Jones as well as the undead slapstick character Billy Butcherson. The film began filming on Rhode Island in October under director Anne Fletcher, who has previously been responsible for the romantic comedy hit The proposal. She is working from a screenplay by Jen D’Angelo, who has previously worked on the comedy series Workaholics.
