Hulu has decided to celebrate National Candy Day with a four-part series called Candidate: Home for holidays. In it you will see Candy Queen Jackie Sorkin and her team of talented candy artists: Chris Fernandez, Genevieve Chan, Amanda Touch, D. Micah Lindsey, Basia Whitely, Caroline Habash, and Mandy Buic build a life-size house made solely of sweet things.
It’s like real life, Hans and Grete, but hopefully without a child eating witch. It should be interesting to see this engineering art, as especially candy and sugar work is not necessarily the strongest thing to work with. I’m also interested in seeing if any kind of front yard is considered part of the house they build and how they will create more than life holiday decorations in candy.
I feel like I can get cavities just thinking about a house made entirely of candy, but you can start your holiday season by watching all four episodes when they premiere on December 1st.
What kind of life-size thing would you like to see made from candy?
