Jason Momoa was seen out for the first time since announcing his split from wife Lisa Bonet.

That Aquaman the star was photographed in Los Angeles wearing a black T-shirt and jeans while covering herself in a black face mask and hat on Sunday. The actor was seen without his wedding ring as he carried a cardboard box outside a grocery store.

Momoa, 42, revealed that he and Bonet, 54, had separated after nearly 17 years together and five years of marriage in a now-deleted Instagram post he shared last Wednesday. (Bonet does not have social media.)

“We have all felt the pressure and the changes in these times of transformation … A revolution is unfolding and our family is no exception … feeling and growing from the seismic shifts that are occurring,” the joint statement read. “And so we share our family news that we are going apart in marriage.”

“We do not share this because we think it is newsworthy, but so that as we go about our lives, we can do so with dignity and honesty,” the statement continued. “The love between us continues and develops in ways it wants to be known and lived. The statement concluded: “Our devotion unwavering to this holy life, our children. To teach our children what is possible. To live by prayer. May love prevail ✨ J & L.”

Along with the announcement, Momoa shared several photos in her post, including one of a sunset sky, one of a person holding a baby bird and wearing a shirt that says “May my soul shout love”, and another close-up of the hands holding it young bird.

The couple started dating in 2005 after being introduced by mutual friends at a jazz club.

During a performance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Momoa talked about her first date with Bonet and said, “We happened to be in the right place at the right time.”

“I had actually feared my hair for her. I had dreadlocks, she had dreadlocks. I literally turned around and I see her and she says, ‘I’m Lisa’. I turned to my friend and I [pretended to scream]. I got fireworks inside, man, “he said at the time.” I convinced her to take me home because I was staying in a hotel. “

The two ended up sharing a meal at Cafe 101, where Momoa said they hit it off.

“We sat down, she ordered a Guinness, and that was it,” he added. “I love Guinness. We had Guinness and groats, and the rest is history.”

The former couple share two children, daughter Lola, 14, and son Nakoa-Wolf, 13. (Bonet is also the mother of Zoë Kravitz, 33, whom she shares with ex-husband Lenny Kravitz.)
