Keanu Reeves: ‘It would be an honor’ to become a member of the MCU

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is no stranger to swallowing huge Hollywood talent for its growing cast of heroes, and Keanu Reeves certainly looks willing to join MCU in the future, according to new comments from the star of The Matrix and John Wick series.

“It would be an honor [to join the MCU], “Reeves said Esquire in a new interview. “There are some really amazing directors and visionaries, and they do something that no one has ever really done. It’s special in that sense in terms of scale, ambition, production. So it would be cool to be a part of that.”

Every MCU actor who has won an Oscar

Nor is it just speculative chat chat. Back in 2019, when Reeves enjoyed another renaissance with the release of John Wick 3: Parabellum, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said that Marvel had spoken to Reeves “for almost every movie we make.”

“I do not know when, if or ever he will join the MCU, but we would very much like to find out the right way to do it,” Feige said. Feige has reportedly made a comparison between Reeves and Jake Gyllenhaal, who was contacted for several Marvel roles before eventually signing on to play Mysterio in the second Tom Holland Spider-Man movie.

Meanwhile, you can catch Keanu Reeves in the upcoming DC League of Super Pets, where he plays a currently unknown role. You can see the brand new trailer above.
