It’s been eight months since Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kanye West, and it looks like the long-awaited division or property is finally underway.
We see many high-profile divorces in the world of celebrity gossip, but rarely is so much at stake.
We’ve seen billionaires get divorced, but we’ve never seen it thaw billionaires get divorced.
And with Kanye’s famous fleeting temperament, it was widely expected that this clash between the media titans would be one of a kind.
But we’re afraid we’ve got some bad news for those of you who love A-list drama:
It seems that Kim and Kanye share their billions of assets with mutual respect and minimal hostility.
This week’s big headline was that Kim won the couple’s $ 60 million mansion in Hidden Hills, California.
In many businesses, this was framed as a result of a controversial court battle in which Kim got a narrow victory over Kanye.
But that does not seem to be the case.
Rather, it appears that Kanye ceded the house to Kim for practical reasons.
She becomes the primary caretaker for the couple’s four children, and since Hidden Hills is close to Kardashian’s headquarters in Calabasas, it makes sense for Kim to stay seated.
But that does not mean that Kanye will be an absent figure in the lives of his children.
According to a new report from TMZ, the rapper is selling his $ 11 million ranch (where he was hollowed out after his infamous Twitter crash last year).
And it seems that instead of disappearing into Cowboy State, Kanye will stay much more at home these days.
He has reportedly bought a $ 57 million “beach house” in Malibu, where he is likely to be joined by the kids at the weekend or when Kim travels.
Yes, it may be boring, but it seems like both parties are getting a fair deal out of this divorce settlement.
There were rumors that Kim would go after the publishing rights to Kanye’s music, but even if she did, the lawyer in the training probably knew it would open a whole can of worms.
Kim also has millions of business interests and intellectual property that she wants to keep to herself, and going after Kanye’s bread and butter would probably encourage him to do the same.
Since they are both indecently wealthy, there will be no need for a spouse or child support from either party.
Kanye could have earned Kim this year thanks to her new album and the lasting popularity of his sneaker line, but there have certainly been years where she did better than him.
(Let’s not forget that Kanye was destroyed not so long ago, a fact he happily shared with the whole world.)
So yes – against all odds, Kim and Kanye put their children’s happiness first and go their separate ways on the best possible terms.
We applaud them for that – and we encourage Kanye to steer clear of Twitter for the next few months.
