ESPN reported on Sunday that one of the main reasons the Cowboys started the right tackle La’el Collins was suspended for five games was that he tried to bribe an NFL drug test collector.
NFL officials declined to comment.
Collins agents did not return calls for comment.
Sources told ESPN Collins missed several drug tests and tried to bribe a test collector. An NFL player cannot be suspended for positive marijuana tests, but after the league discovered the bribery attempt, it suspended Collins’ five games.
