Maci Bookout blown up to deposit with Gabby Petito Clickbait

Anyone who follows reality stars on social media knows that they occasionally supplement their income by posting clickbait.

Generally, this has the form of links to articles about celebrities or viral videos.

Sometimes, however, the posters go beyond the bounds of good taste by posting content that spreads harmful rumors or profits from tragedy.

Unfortunately, Teen Mom AND star Maci Bookout is often to blame for this.

As a result of the outrageous content she posts in exchange for cash, Maci has been accused of lying to fans and sacrificing her reputation in exchange for a quick buck.

In most cases, Macis’ more offensive clickbait has to do with lies about her teammates in the Teen Mom series.

For example, when she took part in spreading the word about Catelynn Lowell’s fake divorce from Tyler Baltierra, Maci was duly criticized for misleading her fans and helping spread false information.

Fans were saddened, and many expressed hope that Maci would learn his lesson and be a little more picky in the future.

Unfortunately, this has not been the case.

In fact, Maci’s recent clickbait controversy violates all of her past, and it seems to have cost her quite a few followers.

As you probably know by now, the body of YouTuber Gabby Petito was found in Wyoming earlier this week.

The 22-year-old’s girlfriend, Brian Laundrie, has now been targeted by a federal arrest warrant.

Needless to say, this is a tragic situation and anyone who comments on it in public should step in easily.

The investigation into Petito’s death is not only underway, but it was only a few days ago that her family and friends just got to know about her horrific death.

That’s why Maci’s fans were shocked and horrified to find her posting of factually inaccurate clickbait articles about Petito’s murder.

Laundrie’s order was issued just last night, but Maci has for several days made bold and bizarre allegations about his arrest.

She has posted misleading articles about the search for Petito and her alleged killer, apparently with complete disregard for what kind of effect such misinformation can have on those who are emotionally invested in the case.

And these posts have not been well received by fans.

“So Maci can not make a post to raise awareness about #GabbyPetito, but she can get clickbait and monetize this tragedy?” asked a commentator according to The Sun.

“A family is grieving and the world is watching. Post to make a change and stop making money on a family nightmare,” added another.

“It’s awful! Disgusting that she’s making money on this,” chimed a third.

“Whether it was her post or a team on social media … read the room! It is disgusting to do this. Especially on an ongoing study.

“This is really so tasteless,” commented another.

Other fans were more proper in expressing their dissatisfaction, and many stated that they hoped Maci would apologize for this shocking ignorance.

“Have these women sold their accounts to a click bait company? I stopped following a long time ago because their posts are absolutely trash, where 99% of their content is click bait with insensitive leading titles, “one follower observed.

“It’s so obvious that they’ve using their fan base to profit solely, and that’s it. There’s absolutely zero integrity.”

“This clickbait sh-t is annoying as it is, but it’s a whole new low,” wrote another person.

This benefits the death of a young woman. It would be different if it was a documentary about ID or abc or something that actually tells her story. It’s just distasteful to me. ”

“Distasteful” puts it mildly, and Maci definitely owes her fans an apology for her picky misrepresentation of facts.

But it seems unlikely Bookout will ever issue an apology, as her strategy in the past has been to simply ignore such criticism.

All we can do is hope that in the future Maci will be more selective about the kind of content she posts, if only for the sake of her own reputation.
