Legendary boxer Manny Pacquiao is ready to return to the ring. After nearly two full years away, “PacMan” is back in Las Vegas in the main event at a PBC on Fox PPV event to host WBA title holder Yordenis Ugas.

Pacquiao earned the WBA belt in the final outing with a decisive victory over Keith Thurman in September 2019. But when the Filipino legend was out of action, the sanctioning body promoted him to “champion in recess” to reopen the title for the rest of the division.

Ugas, meanwhile, is not one that can be overlooked. As a 35-year-old, the Cuban has only lost 12 trips to the ring since 2015 with the lone loss that came by controversial decision to Shawn Porter on the vacant WBC title. He has taken some of the best in the world with 147 pounds, including victories over Jamal James, Thomas Dulorme, Ray Robinson, Omar Figueroa Jr. and Abel Ramos.

It will definitely be a busy night as a WBA champion is crowned with the hope of one day reuniting with either Spence or WBO champion and the great pound-for-pound great Terence Crawford.

Another three games fill the underdog in Las Vegas Saturday night. In particular, a couple of veterans meet in the co-main event when Robert Guerrero and Victor Ortiz meet in welterweight. Guerrero, 38, is back after his own two-year hiatus and enters a winning streak with three games. This comes after a brief retirement in 2017 after a three-match move. Ortiz, 34, has not fought since February 2018 while facing allegations of sexual assault that were rejected in December 2020. He has not won since a knockout in July 2017. Plus, Philippine prospect Mark Magsayo gets his chance for to move closer to gold when he takes on former champion Julio Ceja in a WBC title eliminator at featherweight.
