Mutant Child Revitalization at Marvel Comics in the Dawn, Reign, and now Destiny of X-something which has given mutants a secluded home and status as a global superpower on the sovereign, vibrant island of Krakoa – has traveled all sorts of fascinating questions about what it means for the publisher’s often persecuted minority group to have found a semblance of utopia, and the prices they will be willing to pay to secure it.

Marvel Comics has shared new details regarding Legion of X, one of the last unveiled X-books of the third era of “Krakoan Age” – the whole line X men restart that began with the launch of House and Powers of X in 2019. Joins the recent announcement of the eight other books being launched X’s fate this spring, Legion is written by The road to X‘s Si Spurrier, and will feature art by Jan Bazaldua (without coloring or letter currently officially attached to the series). The series will contribute to a team with the headline Way‘s Nightcrawler, who has spent some of his time on Krakoa and considered the concept of mutant spirituality in a time where they can not die, as he leads a team of … well, not exactly police. Mutants and officers do not mix properly. Instead, Nightcrawler’s new team – Pixie, the Juggernaut, Blindfold, Dr. Nemesis and even David Haller, aka Legion – serve as both the mutant nation’s internal investigative force and protectors of its peace, not only in law and order, but to protect utopia from forces that would disrupt it.

“For the first time, the Marvel Universe has this densely packed, beautiful (and beautifully volatile) population of superhumans, out in the open, all in one place,” Spurrier said in a statement released by Marvel (via Beatet). “It needs peacekeepers, of course … but it’s a mistake to think of them as officers. You do not get far in Krakoa if the limit of your imagination is to knock people or reach out for a gun. Mutant civilization has need those who think differently. “

How differently this unorthodox team thinks, we must see, however Legion will far from be the first time the new X-Men’s age has had questionable ethics raised by some of its most prominent heroes. The X-Force returned as one of the first books from the Krakoan era, re-establishes the black ops team as essentially mutant cheeks Secret Intelligence Agency to start. In organizations like Hellfire Trading Company and Kitty Pride’s Marauders, You have mutant groups that turn to the shadows of the black market to help uphold the economic agreements that Krakoa has made with humanity in exchange for recognition of its sovereignty. Krakoa is something more for mutant cheeks at this point, but if it is to be a nation on the global stage, then it will obviously adopt some structures and organizations similar to its other nation states, for better or worse. But with a mutant like Nightcrawler at the helm, so maybe as Spurrier suggests, Legion of X will show us the way to a completely different approach to a kind of X-Men peacekeeping force.

Legion of X begins in April along with the rest of X’s fate line.
