Marvel’s Josh Brolin reveals what drew him to play Thanos

Josh Brolin is an actor known for a wide variety of roles, but these days people know him best as Marvel Cinematic Universes Thanos. His character may have been defeated in Avengers: Endgame, but Brolin had an exciting return to the franchise this week, then he expressed the character in an episode of the new animated series, Marvel’s What If …? The episode, “What If … T’Challa Became a Star-Lord”, so Thanos is a brand new (and quite frankly, funny) light that was definitely a fun change after seeing him be a threatening threat for so many years. Brolin recently had a chat with ACE Universe and opened up about what initially drew him to the role.

“When I said yes to, to Thanos, you know, they had given me a great bible and really talked me out, but it was not for you, you knew a massive, massive role in the last two films of a 10-year-old It was more meant as a cameo. So it was never the size of the role that was like oh I want to do it because it’s going to push me further up in that fame or star or whatever it is.It was like what “There is the role? The role, it is not one of the Avengers, it is the nemesis of all Avengers,” Brolin explained.

“I rejected some of these things, and again people were like ‘money!’ When I said yes to Avengers it was a small thing. It was basically a cameo, so there was not much money involved, ”Brolin said previously said about playing Thanos. “So that was not the reason. But when they played for me, they gave me a great bible. I loved that it was all [of them]. If it had been one of the Avengers – and I do not mean this, I probably should not have said this, but I just want to say it – I probably would not have done it. But the fact that it was all Avengers against this one guy. I liked that aspect of it. “

In addition to Marvel’s What If …?, Brolin is one of the many big stars that will soon be seen in Dune, which finally hits theaters and HBO Max later this year. Brolin plays Gurney Halleck alongside Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Oscar Isaac as Duke Leto Atreides, Zendaya as Chani, Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Dr. Liet-Kynes, Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho, Dave Bautista as Glossu Rabban and Javier Bardem as Stilgar.

New episodes of Marvel’s What if…? drop at Disney + on Wednesday. Dune opens in theaters on October 22nd. It debuts on HBO Max the same day.
