Donald Trump is suing his niece Mary Trump and The New York Times for coverage of his taxes.
Michael Cohen suggested that the lawsuit could backfire if Donald Trump is forced to make a deposit.
Cohen said his former boss’s deposits were the “dumbest written paper you’ve ever seen.”
Michael Cohen, Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer and fixer, suggested that Mary Trump could get his uncle’s “ridiculous” lawsuit backfired by getting him to resign.
The former president has sued his niece, The New York Times, and three journalists for $ 100 million over a survey conducted by the paper in his tax records.
“If I were Mary Trump and her lawyer, I would turn around and say, do not fight this, just answer the complaint and look for deposits, let’s look for discovery,” Cohen said as he appeared on MSNBC on Saturday.
“Because one thing’s for sure, and I’ve read dozens of Donald Trump’s passages, they’s the dumbest written paper you’ve ever seen. Nothing makes sense. Everything is circular.”
Michael Cohen said he is currently in one lawsuit against the Trump organization and he has asked for deposits of Trump, which his lawyers have denied.
“They are determined that they do not want him to sit for deposits because he does not know what he is talking about. Even though it is actually about him, he is completely ignorant and he lies so much that he does not once can remember it the lies he told yesterday, “Cohen said.
Michael Cohen is currently under house arrest as he is serving the last few months of a three-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to several crimes in 2018.
Trump’s lawsuit against Mary Trump centers around The New York Times 18-month-long study of Trump’s economy, which won a Pulitzer Prize.
The lawsuit alleges that the newspaper convinced Mary Trump to “smuggle records out of her attorney’s office and hand them over to The Times,” which was in violation of a confidentiality agreement.
Mary Trump, an outspoken critic of her uncle, said so her uncle is a “fuck loser” to sue her.
“It’s desperation. The walls shut in and he throws everything against the wall that will stick. As always with Donald, he will try to change the subject,” she said.
