Roommates, as fans continue to send their prayers and condolences after Gregg Leakes’ death, NeNe Leakes has just publicly broken its silence. In a heartfelt post on her Instagram page, NeNe Leakes posted a video slowdance with Gregg in her Atlanta lounge, The Linnethia.
When several celebrities and “Real Housewives of Atlanta” co-stars sent their love, support and condolences to NeNe Leaks after the sad news of her husband Gregg Leake’s death, she remained silent but publicly acknowledged his death for the first time on Instagram. In the video, the two smile, hug and dance together in what were now his last days.
As we previously reported, Gregg died after a long battle with colon cancer at the age of 66. Earlier in the week, NeNe Leakes confirmed that he was in the midst of a change and he had very little time left.
The Leakes family’s publicist and close friend, Ernest Dukes, confirmed the heartbreaking news via a statement, writing:
“Today, the Leakes family is in deep pain with a broken heart. After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes’ death is peaceful in his home surrounded by all his children, very close loved ones and wife Nene Leakes. We ask you to ask for peace and strength over their family and let them mourn privately in this very difficult time. ”
Gregg was originally diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in June 2018, almost a year later in May 2019, he happily celebrated being cancer-free. Unfortunately, his cancer returned in June this year, followed by NeNe, who updated fans that he had been hospitalized for six weeks after surgery.
We continue to send our condolences to NeNe Leakes and her family during this difficult time.
